30 Paintings in 30 Days ~ Jan. 21 ~ Inaguration 2013
January 21, 2013 ~ Inauguration Day Oil on Cradled Canvas Panel 6″ x 6″ $85
A great day happens every four years as we celebrate our wonderful United States of America! We inaugurate the person who a few months earlier has been elected by a vote of a free people! No matter who we as individuals voted for, this is a great cause for celebration, reflection, and gratitude for being a part of it all.
As I watched the simple pageantry of it this morning I was struck by the number of flags being waved so enthusiastically and happily all through the crowd. (Great vendors…). I would have liked to be there waving along with so many others.
But then, truthfully, I love being able to watch it all unfold on my computer from the comfort of my home. What a great seat! With the observations of news broadcasters and close-up photos of all the main participants.
Several days ago I decided I would like to try a painting of it all while it was going on…. I have tried other times to paint from TV…. not so good on results. This morning was particularly fun!
So I wave my flag today with my paintbrush!

I’m really impressed that you could paint from the TV. Wonderful picture!
This turned out really amazing! And I can’t believe you painted WHILE the TV was running. Craziness! Very nice, Marilyn, very nice!
